AALS Secretary, Hugh Elsol’s 3.5” gauge LNWR Hardwicke Dave Giles from Manukau Live Steamers (NZ) drives John Wakefield’s South African loco. John Funston’s 5” gauge Santa Fe F7 is a nicely finished model. Ian Smith’s Bundaberg Fowler was one of the larger 7.25” engines in attendance.

Hugh Elsol and Barry Tulloch doing some spirited express running LNWR style on the elevated track. The man behind the hair is John Steadman — the two Steadman Heidi’s always run up large distances on the track. Pat Fanning’s 5” model of the unusual Tasmanian 2-foot gauge Hagans Patent J class articulated locomotive. Foden steam wagons in 3” and 4.5” scale, the smaller being Martin Yule’s and the larger John Hearst’s. “Blue Gum” taking a break on its home track. Some of the 5” scale rolling stock which was on hand.
